Allison Noemi Marin is a sophomore taking her first year of journalism, a class she hopes to develop her writing skills in. Marin was named based on the female lead Allie in “The Notebook” and is generally called “Allie” by her family and close friends. She aspires to be a photographer in her future or attend a beauty school like her beauty inspirations: her aunt and grandmother. Since the age of six, Marin has used makeup to naturally enhance her beauty and has always been advised to disregard negative comments concerning her appearance and Hispanic identity. In her free time, Marin enjoys binging teen drama shows, cooking Mexican cuisines like pozole and painting nature scenery with acrylic paints. She also enjoys getting acrylic or gel nails done in colors such as blue, yellow and pink. As a curious and understanding individual, Marin is passionate about sharing advice to her peers whom she regards as important people in her life. Some characteristics Marin values in others include honesty, a sense of humor and being humble. She abides by the motto “Be the change you wish to see in the world,” as she believes one should impact their community positively.
