Sophomore Christopher Charbonnet’s older sister Zoie gave him the nickname Tobie as it rhymed with her own name. His family consists of his aforementioned sister, mother and father, Charbonnet describes himself as an introverted and kind person who values his friends and family. Charbonnet must be pushed by his mother to complete his homework. He appreciates the quote, “You cannot hide forever,” because it reminds him of the consequences of procrastinating school work. One of Charbonnet’s biggest passions is planes. While his passion began seriously three years ago, Charbonnet’s eight-year-old self had already predicted what a major role they would play in his life when he created an email address with “A-10,” referencing his present-current favorite plane, the Fairchild Republic A-10 Thunderbolt II. While Charbonnet cannot explain where his love of planes originated from, he explained that he likes the design, function and flying of planes. Charbonnet learned about them through articles, games and YouTube videos all related to planes; this led his YouTube homepage to be dominated by planes and “Star Wars.” Charbonnet spends his time playing flying games and hopes to purchase a joystick, thrust, rudder and IR head tracking gear in the future. Charbonnet one day plans to follow his passion for planes into the Air Force after college to become a pilot.
