Elizabeth Felchlin, Reporter

Elizabeth Felchlin—or “Lizzy,” as her friends call her—is a sophomore in her first year of journalism. She chose to take journalism because of the freedom to express her creativity, which she already does through her extracurricular activities. Felchin loves baking, and often caters for her friends’ parties. Her favorite items to bake are macarons, also known as French macaroons. She recently started making macarons after her neighbors lent her a recipe book which led to her baking “excessive amounts” to gift to her friends. Felchlin also enjoys singing and listening to K-pop and dancing. Felchlin describes herself as caring and nosy. She believes that she gets invested in her friends’ problems, which can come off as caring or nosy depending on who you are talking to. Her friends often come to her for advice, and she prides herself on being able to solve their problems. In 10 years, Felchlin sees herself working and settled down with a family of her own. She has not decided what career she wants to pursue yet, but she wants to be close to her family. Felchlin values honesty and empathy in others; these are traits she thinks the world could use more of. One trait that has stuck with Felchlin over the years is being brave. She finds it comforting that being brave does not just mean doing dangerous things; it means being scared that a situation is dangerous but taking action anyway.
