Sophomore Jasmine Cabana enters her first year in Aquila with the intention of bringing attention to subjects like homophobia and racial profiling. She believes that everyone has equal rights and is whole heartedly determined to promote her beliefs through social media. Following in the footsteps of her mother and father, Cabana plays basketball both competitively and for school. Cabana has struggled with being herself, but after times of struggle, she has come out victorious and contributes that success to her friends; Cabana now has no obstacle when it comes to being herself. She stated that her friends would describe her as “weird” considering how “wild” and honest she is. One of Cabana’s aspirations in life is becoming a psychologist. Cabana is intrigued by the study of human behavior and wants to dive deeper into why people think and act the way they do. She also feels as though the best way to help people is to be there for them in times of struggle and doubt.
