Sophomore Rajeev Devanath is entering his second year with Aquila. Devanath is passionate about robotics and is strongly involved with the robotics team “SpeedZappers.” Devanath's work scales from local to international competitive scenes. Beyond his academic pursuits in the STEM field, Devanath finds joy in singing Caranatic music, a form of Indian classical music originating in South India. Devanath uses singing as a means to explore narratives that reveal his religious devotion while upholding the traditions passed down through generations of singers. Devanath values his strong connections to his community, family and friends. Community service is a way for Devanath to support the people around him, demonstrating his sense of justice and goodwill. Devanath aspires to live alongside good, caring people, supporting his values of a strong personal and social circle. “You miss 100% of the shots you don't take” is a motto Devanath lives by, inspiring him to face things he is afraid of. Devanath’s journalistic goals this year is to improve his writing skills and techniques through contributions such as in-depth articles.
