Journalism students attend NorCal Media Day at Palo Alto High School in 2019. The annual field trip, held on a Saturday each September, is a “mini-convention” where Aquila staff attend workshops of their choice and learn about newsgathering, photography and other journalism topics.Unboxing Day—the moment the latest edition of Aquila arrives—is always met with a gigantic feeling of accomplishment. Hard work pays off! Aquila staff members take home awards and other top honors from various competitions throughout the school year.
