Beza Mitachew is a junior entering her second year in journalism. In her free time, Mitachew enjoys watching Gossip Girls and thrillers on Netflix as well as baking goods, often making cakes and chocolate chip cookies. She also enjoys traveling and exploring new places such as Dubai. At UPA, Mitachew is co-President of the Global Awareness Club. They aim to help the community for people that are in need of any support. Mitachew loves supporting those around her and hopes to get more involved in the community. Academically, Mitachew aspires to pursue a degree in business and law. Being described by her friends as motivated and accomplished, she values humor, honesty and kindness in her everyday classmates and friends. Mitachew’s journalistic goals this year include using more social activities in Aquila as well as broadcasting them to the public. Her favorite piece of coverage she’s done so far was the “Money on My Mind” article, through which she reported on students at UPA balancing their school work with working jobs outside.
