Freshman Jordan Mathew is currently entering his first year in journalism. Mathew lives by the quote "Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life” by Steve Jobs. He believes that people should be themselves and they should do what they want to do with their life instead of following in the footsteps of others. In his free time, Mathew loves to swim and play basketball with his friends in his free time. Mathew also loves playing with his German Shepherd named Max. He believes that his dog gives him a sense of responsibility. Mathew decided to take journalism since he believes the class could be a way for him to express his creative ability by trying out different aspects of Journalism . Mathew also has an avid passion for video games and plays them on his PS5. Mathew was always interested in how the video games he played were made and this helped start his passion for coding. In the future, he wants to either be a programmer or a graphic designer where can make video games. Mathew’s interest in graphic design was one of the main reasons he wanted to join the Aquila. As a journalist Mathew wants to hone his graphic design skills by designing articles. He also wants to report on sport events such as basketball and volleyball since sports interest him. Two things important to Mathew are his family and friends. He believes that his family will always be there for him and support him, and his friends are there so he can have fun with them.
