Jup Singh, Web Manager
Jup Singh is a junior entering his second year of journalism. Singh values both humor and loyalty, believing that having both of these qualities would make someone the perfect person. Singh finds it necessary to have someone whom he can open up to without being worried, yet can still laugh with. In addition to that, Singh values his faith, family and friends. Singh believes that the best advice he’d ever received was to not try and blend in with others if you don’t feel comfortable. He is also passionate about both cars and basketball, having been on UPA’s basketball team for the past two years. Singh also plays basketball outside of school as it helps him clear his mind and relax. Singh’s initial interest in cars was piqued by his uncle, his passion fueled so that he is currently saving money in hopes of buying his own car that he’ll then fix up with the assistance of his uncle. In his free time, Singh loves to go on drives with his cousins and try out different cars he likes. Last year, Singh was Aquila’s Web Manager and will continue to be one this year. His favorite contribution to Aquila was “UPA’s Wifi Connectivity and the Impact on Student Learning”. Singh felt like it reported on not only a problem throughout the school, but also an issue that had personally impacted him. Singh had wanted to shed light on it for a while and Aquila gave him the opportunity to spread awareness about it to a widespread audience within the school. This year, his journalistic goals include expanding on telling stories through broadcasting. He also plans to cover the issue of newer generations gaining access to social media at a younger age, and the negatives that come with it.
