Junior Lena Nguyen is returning to Journalism as a second-year student. Nguyen is described as a spontaneous and expressive person, which is why she finds herself drawn to those who have bold personalities and can match her vibe. Nguyen aspires to be a cool, rich aunt who is always traveling around the world, and who is perhaps working in the international business field. With her current interest in the business field, Nguyen is especially concerned about the issue of financial literacy for teens. She feels that there is a lack of education on finances, and just an expectation to already know everything once you reach adulthood.  As a journalist, Nguyen hopes to address this issue and do what she can to combat it. In her previous journalism year, Nguyen’s most memorable contribution was her design for the article, “NewJams, NewJeans”, which was her first design for Aquila. She felt that although it was such a challenge, it was rewarding to see a vision come together and to have so much creative freedom. This year, Nguyen hopes to expand to different mediums of journalism, such as broadcasts, arts and culture reviews, hard-hitting in-depths and more.
