Meghan Earle, Reporter

Meghan Earle is a junior and first-year journalism student, excited to flex her speech and debate skills in Aquila. She originally joined journalism because her mother thought it would be a valuable way for her to improve on her debate skills, but Earle quickly realized there is more to be excited about. Since she owns two dogs, animal cruelty is a subject Earle has been itching to bring awareness to. Along with animal cruelty, Earle cares about the mental well-being of her fellow classmates, especially since UPA is such an academically rigorous school. With these issues in mind, she is excited to start reporting for Aquila. Earle has an athletic background and started playing sports when she was very young. Volleyball, basketball, softball, football and karate are among the many sports she participates in. But, she acknowledges that she would not have had this many sports under her belt without the encouragement of her mother. Earle’s mother encouraged her to try new sports by telling her to “always try, even if you don’t think you will succeed.” This advice rings in the back of her mind when she plays sports and is a driving factor for her athletic success. Some of Earle’s core values are patience, open-mindedness and respect for others as she believes these make for a great friend. When she is not doing school work or playing sports, Earle is most likely baking, reading, watching “The Office” or walking her dogs.
