Miles Hines is a junior in his second year of journalism. Hines is part of a few extracurriculars that are important to him, including basketball and Christian Club. Christian Club has helped him show pride in his faith, while basketball is a hobby that he has been passionate about for many years. Hines hopes to continue his interest in sports after finishing school, as he’s interested in pursuing a career in the realm of sports reporting. Hines believes that the best advice he’s ever received was, “Leave yesterday in the past and look forward while staying in the moment.” He has used this to be more optimistic, learning not to dwell on the past. In addition to his role as Multimedia Manager for Aquila this year, Hines hopes to shed light and write an article on micro-racism and its effects on normalizing such behavior in many communities.
