Shaan Benjamin is a sophomore in his first year of journalism. Outside of school, Benjamin enjoys sports, gaming and content creation. Benjamin’s favorite games are Call of Duty and Fortnite, finding passion in recording and editing videos he creates of his gameplay. Benjamin used to compete in Division 1 wrestling, something he misses taking part in. Benjamin also used to play baseball and still loves to watch the Oakland A’s, his favorite team, today. Benjamin values empathy and humor in others and hopes to practice these qualities himself, mainly because he feels that it was something he didn’t have in the past. Benjamin also appreciates people who open up to him. One quote he lives by is, “You’re always a hero in someone else’s story”, believing that it is a positive outlook to have in life since everyone has a unique story. In the future, Benjamin would like to have a fun, stable life where he can hang out with his friends and enjoy the happiness he gets from his hobbies. For this year, his goals are to make it into a sports team, to be a better version of himself and to continue to improve and participate in more of his hobbies. Benjamin’s journalistic goals for this year are to engage in interesting conversations with people through Aquila as he enjoys talking to people about such topics.
