Tasneem Elsayed, Reporter
Sophomore Tasneem Elsayed is beginning her journalism journey as a first-year student this year. Elsayed is quite involved in the school community, where she is a member of the forensics club, part of the cross country team and president of the Chinese Student Association (CSA), as well as a secretary of Volleyball Club (VBC). Outside of school, Elsayed enjoys playing Genshin Impact, experimenting with makeup, trying new food places and practicing volleyball and fencing. Elsayed has been fencing for about three years, and does so competitively. Although she started due to the wishes of her parents, it has developed into a passion of hers that she truly enjoys. In 10 years, Elsayed dreams of being an athlete, with Olympics in reach. She also sees herself as an entrepreneur specializing in handmade crafts or home decor. But most importantly, Elsayed hopes to be happy with a healthy mental mindset. Having overcome some mental barriers in the past, Elsayed is particularly passionate about topics of mental health, and would like to report on it. She also wishes that there was more attention to Western media misrepresentation of other ethnicities, cultures, and religions, which, as a journalist, Elsayed wishes to be able to bring awareness to and combat.
