Terry Thinh Tran, Reporter
Terry Thinh Tran is a sophomore entering his first year of journalism. From a young age, prompted by his mom’s hesitancy to give him a phone, Tran became interested in filmmaking and screenwriting. As an avid movie enjoyer himself, he especially loved the storytelling aspect of film and the challenges it came along with. Tran also enjoys reading, particularly about philosophy and psychology. His favorite philosopher, Aristotle, has helped him appreciate honesty and the various facets of Greek writing and belief. Tran lives with his two sisters, dad, mom and grandpa. Although many may describe him as energetic and talkative, in part due to the high energy he is surrounded by at home with his sisters, he can also be reserved and focused, especially regarding film and philosophy. In the future, Tran hopes to materialize his passions and pursue a role in the filmmaking and screenwriting industry. On a personal level, Tran values kindness and inclusion, believing that kindness should not only be a basic human characteristic but also perceived as the gateway to honesty and healthy relationships. If everyone was kind to others, Tran believes that many problems plaguing society could easily be resolved. As a reporter this year, Tran hopes to tackle issues specifically targeting social corruption and its prevalence in society. Through his work, he hopes to raise awareness about the instability of the world and how to easily identify it on a daily basis
