Zahra Shaikh, Team Editor
Sophomore Zahra Shaikh is currently in her second year of journalism. Outside of schoolwork, Shaikh enjoys shopping, talking to others and making handmade crafts for her friends like paper bouquets and personalized cards. She also enjoys baking and doing nails for herself, as well as for her friends. Although she prefers a smaller group of friends, she likes helping people and values leadership. One of the core values Shaikh has is calmness. She believes that most problems can be solved if they are seen from a different perspective. Shaikh is very close with her family and recently got to meet with some of her cousins whom she hadn’t seen in awhile but bonded with almost immediately. Due to Shaikh’s understanding of the importance of perspective, her original aspirations led to being a therapist but currently, she would like to pursue a career in the medical field. In the future, she would like to remain in California and be able to live her life with no restraints. In her past year in journalism, Shaikh has written articles including “In a while, Croc-odile” and “Bha-Ra-Ta-Natyam: The Emotion, Melody and Rhythm of Classical Dance”, both of which she thoroughly enjoyed reporting on. Shaikh loves journalism because of the interaction and opportunity to help others, as she values being a leader. This year, Shaikh wants to make an impact through her creative contributions. She wishes to improve herself throughout this school year and hopes to cover the importance of perspective in one of her articles.
