Aparna Ayyadevara, Reporter

Aparna Ayyadevara is a freshman in her first year of journalism. In her free-time, Ayyadevara bakes, cooks, takes orders from her older sister Akhila and most of all: dances. Ayyadevara has been dancing for 10 years, starting at the petite age of four. She participates in Bharatanatyam dancing and currently attends the Kalanityam School of Bharatanatyam. In all her time dancing, she has had the same dance teacher who motivates her to continue dancing. Ayyadevara appreciates the self expression aspect of  dance, which strengthens her passion for the medium. Ayyadevara enjoys performing in front of large crowds at festivals and showcases. Ayyadevara values patience, kindness and comprehension in her friends. She wants her peers around her to understand her and be there for her regardless of any situation. The best advice Ayyadevara received was from her dance teacher, who said that anything one loses will always find a way back to them. Ayyadevara recounts how her father lost his wallet and it eventually came back to him in the mail. As a reporter this year, Ayyadevara wants to shed light on the issues the Desi community faces, especially racism.
