Aubrey Phung is a junior entering her third year in journalism and was a reporter for the past two years. Phung has a variety of hobbies, including making beaded jewelry and cooking. She also engages in journaling, scrapbooking and watching movies when she has the time. While Phung enjoys indoor activities, she also participates in her fair share of outdoor activities. Phung’s perfect day involves an adventure in the outdoors. She enjoys seeking views in nature and going on hikes. Phung is also in multiple clubs such as the Global Awareness Club, and  hopes to start a badminton and film club. Phung is a part of the UPA track team as well and often volunteers, as she is passionate about giving back. Aubrey is described by her peers as authentic and funny with most of her time being spent with her family or friends. She is introverted but enjoys talking to unfamiliar people to gain others perspectives and create new experiences. Phung lives life to the fullest, believing that even when going through a rough patch, you will eventually get through to the other side. Phung values reliability and emotional intelligence when looking for her friends. She feels that those closest to you should be truthful no matter the consequences. As a reporter, Phung has goals of expanding her writing from arts and cultures to stories she is more passionate about. One topic that she feels needs more attention is substance abuse and the different effects it can have on a person. Phung previously has contributed to the film adaptations article and expresses her love for film through her writing.
