Aubrey Phung, Reporter

Sophomore Aubrey Phung is in her second year in journalism. Phung describes herself as funny and real. She likes having a fun time, and makes sure to not take things too seriously. Her favorite quote is, “It's okay to be different, because everyone is,” from the movie: Fantastic Mr. Fox. The best advice she has ever received is to have fun in high school, because she feels like she might regret it later. Some characteristics that Phung values in people are respectfulness, loyalty and genuineness, because it is what people will always remember after initially meeting them. Phung was part of the yearbook club at UPA during her freshman year. She rejoiced in designing the pages and being creative with the topics in the yearbook, and hopes to continue this year. Phung loves hanging out with her friends and watching her favorite shows and movies, such as “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.” In the future, Phung hopes to be traveling and exploring the world. Last year, Phung focused more on writing fun and lighthearted pieces, such as her article on book adaptations to movie adaptations, in Issue 2, Volume 12 This year, Phung wants to focus on more serious topics—such as addiction and homelessness—and broadcasting or designing this year.
