Gagandeep Kaur, also known as Gio, is a sophomore in her first year of journalism. As an aspiring lawyer, Kaur took journalism to improve her writing skills and learn more about media and ethics. Kaur loves animals and currently has a miniature black labrador named Brew. In the future, she wants to have two Dobermans, two tabby cats, two bunnies and two gold-ringed cat snakes. She believes that having one of each pet is too little and having three is too many. Kaur likes to surround herself with people who have a sense of humor since they can help lighten up her mood. Kaur considers herself an avid K-pop fan and enjoys listening to groups such as BTS, BLACKPINK, The Rose, TXT and Enhypen. Kaur follows this quote by Suga, a K-pop idol, “Life is tough and things don't always work out well, but we should be brave and go on with our lives.” She applies this quote to her life by working hard and never giving up. Kaur wants to work hard and achieve as much as possible so she can live without regrets. In her free time, she likes taking her dog to the beach, painting, visiting museums and falling asleep under the stars. Kaur is passionate about learning new things, reading and writing. As a journalist this year, Kaur hopes to spread awareness on issues such as women’s health rights and the LGBTQ community.
