Freshman Jessica Do is a first-year journalism student excited to pursue artistic mediums. In her personal life, Do values finding a balance between work and play—exactly why she reminds herself “You only live once" from time to time to keep herself living a life outside of academics. This personal value is also why she finds joy in swimming. Since she was eight-years-old, Do has been involved in her swim team, MAC, and finds that swimming helps ground her in reality and relieve stress. Her favorite ways to spend time outside of school are by watching Korean dramas, thrifting, drinking matcha lattes and trying new food. Do thrives with kind, outgoing and adventurous people that help her lean into her extroverted side—she deeply appreciates her friends and family. As a reporter this year, she is excited to explore her creativity by delving into social media and learning more about cameras through photojournalism.
