Julia Wong, Reporter

Julia Wong is a junior entering her third year of journalism. During her time at UPA, she has filled roles in several school plays such as “High School Musical” and “Murder at the Pie Auction”. Throughout her life, she has had varied opinions on what she wanted to be as an adult, switching from musician to music app programmer to photojournalist. Nowadays, she aspires to be a photojournalist because she enjoys snapping pictures of people, events and objects that interest her. She believes there are a lot of things that need to change in order for the world to become a better place. She wants others to know more about global warming and how it is going to affect the earth. The lyrics of “Shake It Off” by Taylor Swift are the best advice she has ever gotten because, as Swift sings, “haters gonna hate” and people just need to “shake it off.” Outside of work, Wong likes to cuddle with her cat, Felix, play “Sims 3” or “Sims 4” and watch “Supernatural.” She values open mindedness in people because she prefers to befriend those who do not go off of first impressions but rather judge others based on their character and keep an open mind. Her favorite article she has written was “An Ace At Cards” in Aquila’s newsmagazine, because it was a very fun article to write in her first year on staff. This year, Wong looks forward to writing more articles for Aquila and improving her time management skills.
