Julia Wong

Julia Wong, Reporter

Julia Wong is a senior in her fourth year of journalism. Her interests in the class have been and still are photojournalism and page design. Wong’s favorite contribution is her opinion piece about the TV show “Supernatural,” a show she began watching four years ago. Wong’s plan after graduating from high school is to attend college and graduate with a major in political science. After developing a background in political science, Wong wants to pursue a career in politics so she can work on social justice and social issues. As of now, she is most passionate about human rights, climate change, homelessness and neurodiversity. Being diagnosed with ADHD at age 12, Wong wants to create a welcoming and accommodating world for everyone, regardless of how their brain learns and thinks. Neurodiversity is a personal topic for her, as life with ADHD has placed additional challenges and roadblocks in her life, as well as taught her lessons in self-control, filtering her thoughts, understanding others, receiving criticism and not judging people on first impressions. Outside of school and work, Wong enjoys being around her beloved cat, Felix, and playing games from “The Sims” series. Wong started playing games from the series when she was six years old. She started playing “The Sims 4” in winter of 2016, and as of now has 1,200 hours logged on.
