Matthew Wallace

Matthew Wallace, Reporter

Matthew Wallace is a sophomore entering his first year of journalism. Describing himself as lazy and boring, he despises competition in all forms. Despite hating competition, having a free day would mean that he would get his schoolwork done first, then nap and play his favorite video games, one of which is “Call of Duty.” After he graduates from school, he plans to become a pilot for a regional airline, and eventually a captain, because he finds airplanes interesting. He describes the job as fairly simple, safe, and better for the environment than cars. According to him, planes have a lesser negative environmental impact than cars and are safer than most people would believe them to be. But for now, school has priority over airplanes or his dream of becoming a captain. Besides school, one major concern of his is the well-being of the planet. He finds that the collapse of our society is looming close because of our inability to develop reusable energy and our reliance on unsustainable fuels. In his time in journalism, he plans to report on the environment and the overpopulation of the earth, two subjects he believes do not receive enough attention from the media.
