Sophomore Nadia Hamilton is in her second year of journalism. Hamilton enjoys dancing, crocheting, and hanging out with her friends. She specializes in ballet and has been dancing for nine years. She began ballet because of her mom, but as time passed, she realized how much passion she had for the subject. In seventh grade she began to learn how to crochet and has continued that skill since. Her mom had initially taught her the basics, but she later improved more and more because of UPA’s crochet club, Yarn Over. Hamilton values her family, self-care and school. Hamilton is very close to all of her family– her mother especially– along with her older sister and younger brother. Hamilton loves talking to her mom about her life and having fun and silly conversations with her siblings. This year, Hamilton is a team editor and Managing Editor Shadow. In her first year of journalism, Hamilton wrote “Gear up!” a feature about UPA students’ unique hobbies and  "This or That?” an article about UPA students’ favorite foods.  As a reporter this year, Hamilton hopes to find her niche in journalism by branching out and writing articles that are not features.
