Neha Jral, Reporter

Freshman Neha Jral  is in her first year of journalism. After doing gymnastics for a long time, Jral joined the UPA cheer team. Gymnastics is just one of her many passions, alongside baking and cats. Jral started baking after watching her mother bake cookies every weekend. She helped her mother in the kitchen to the point where she memorized the cookie recipe and now bakes every other weekend. Jral’s interest in cats began after she visited her friend's house with two cats that were very cuddly with her in fourth grade, and ever since then Jral considered herself a cat person. Jral fostered 2 cats over the summer and sees herself in a house with 5 cats in ten years. Jral values living life to the fullest and lives by the acronym “YOLO,” meaning “you only live once.” It once led to her deciding to bungee jump at Great America after her mom told her the phrase, and it was an experience she did not regret. If left alone for a day, Jral would make mochi and macarons and splurge on shopping with her friends. She would spend all her money on buying clothes. As a reporter this year, Jral hopes to shed more light on the double standards between men and women’s dress code.
