Olive Luong, Design Editor
Olive Luong is a sophomore in her second year of journalism. Luong joined volleyball in 5th grade following in her sister's footsteps. Luong enjoys the Vietnamese Student Association (VSA) club at UPA. She and her friends decided to join it one year and ever since then she has been with the club. Luong lives by the saying “you only live once”. This reminds her that she can do things she might be nervous about. In her first year of journalism, Luong’s team editor told her the motto so she wouldn’t be scared to bother people to answer her emails. In the last year of journalism, Luong wrote the profile on Jarjour Hernandez as a new teacher to UPA and the article on the K-Pop group NewJeans. Luongalso designed the article on paper waste and the behind-the-scenes of the UPA theater team. This year Luong hopes that she can focus more on illustrating and designing for articles.
