Chocolate Eruption
How to make chocolate lava cakes
Preparation time: 15-20 minutes
Baking time: 50 minutes
Ingredients
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup water
- Vanilla ice cream (desired amount)
- Chocolate candy melts (approximately 14 oz., but can vary depending on taste)
- Cooking spray
Materials
- Mixing spoon
- 2 large bowls
- Molten lava cake mold or Bundt-style pan
- Small bowl
- Large plate
- Measuring cups
- Measuring spoons
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
- Mix together wet ingredients in a large bowl and mix together dry ingredients in another.
- Pour the bowl of wet ingredients into the bowl of dry ingredients and mix until they are combined well.
- Grease the baking pan with cooking spray and pour the batter into the pan. Put the pan in the oven for 50 minutes.
- Once done, let the cake cool in the pan for at least 15 minutes.
- Turn the pan upside down on top of a large plate. The cake should come out of the pan.
- Pour a desired amount of candy melts into a small bowl and microwave the candy melts in thirty second increments, stirring in between until they are fully melted.
- Pour half of the chocolate onto the cake.
- Add vanilla ice cream on top. (If you do not want the chocolate to harden, put the ice cream on the side.)
- Pour the remaining half of chocolate over the ice cream. Enjoy!
