News Brief: PowerSchool to Replace Schoology Next School Year

In the 2018-2019 school year, students will no longer be using Schoology to check their grades or receive announcements.

We’ve just been using Schoology that the students see, but the teachers have always had to use PowerSchool behind the scenes.

— Nicole Sebek

This year, math and computer science teacher Nicole Sebek attended trainings and participated in trying out PowerSchool Unified Classroom to identify its benefits and determine its flaws before the switch in the upcoming school year.

Along with Sebek, several other teachers volunteered to do a trial run with PowerSchool Unified Classroom as well.

“We’ve been using PowerSchool [for the official gradebook],” Sebek said.

She adds that it will be much easier to have the school under one application instead of two.
