Kara Luayon, Reporter
Freshman Kara Luayon is in her first year of journalism. She is also part of the UPA theater community where she mainly runs tech for shows. Luayon loves to spend time watching K-dramas while painting with her family outside of school. In the future, she hopes to have a stable job and travel internationally exploring different places. Luayon values humor in others as she believes spending time with others is much more enjoyable when they’re able to laugh together. In return, her friends would describe her as caring and funny. She also deeply values her family—especially her relationships with her sister and cousins whom she loves to spend time with. As a reporter, Luayon wants to bring awareness of neurodiversity in adults as she finds it’s cared about more in children and teens and becomes harder to diagnose later in life. She’s also interested in trying her hand at designing but is open to exploring different aspects of journalism and seeing what clicks.
