Alyssa Garcia

Alyssa Garcia, Team Editor

Junior Alyssa Garcia is going into her second year in journalism with the goal of covering more hard-hitting topics. Her favorite style of journalism is narrative journalism because of its focus on a person’s story and its ability to draw a personal connection with the reader. She hopes to write about homelessness in the Bay Area in order to inspire her readers to see past the superficial label of  “homeless.” Garcia’s aspirations of becoming a trauma surgeon drive her to do better for herself; both in school and sports. Since the age of four, Garcia has played soccer and has played competitive travel soccer for eight years and counting. She is immensely passionate about the sport, as it contributes to her leadership and hard work ethic skills. Garcia also runs varsity cross country and track & field. Over this past year, she has gotten more into fashion because she likes to see how different colors and patterns work together. Garcia believes more media attention should be placed on the identity crisis of the minorities in America and the recognition of white privilege.
