Amanda Reboredo, Team Editor

Amanda Reboredo is a junior and entering her second year as part of Aquila. An advocate for Asian representation in the media, she hopes for stereotypes to end and for better Asian representation. Reboredo mostly speaks English but can understand and speak some Tagalog. She spends her sparetimes watching anime, Bojack Horseman or ghibli films. Reboredo has also been a vegetarian for a year since a doctor recommended it due to her injury and got used to the diet. Reboredo is very passionate about her interests; she talks abundantly about them, so she values patience in people because she feels she can sometimes be a lot to handle. She dances, sings and writes outside of school. She started dancing ballet when she was three, but stopped due to an injury in 2019. She is also an ardent fan of K-Pop, as she enjoyed the messages portrayed through the lyrics. She is unsure of what she exactly wants for her future career, but she is interested in fashion business or psychology. One of Reboredo’s favorite aspects of journalism is the sense of community and the collaboration with peers. Her favorite contribution was her article “Spirited Away from Ethnic Uniformity.” She really hopes to work more on designing and photojournalism as a part of the Aquila team.
